Students will not be allowed to participate in clubs if:
- They are picked up late three times
- If they miss a club three times
Clubs
In a noncompetitive setting, all students will learn and practice skills to gain a better understanding of the basics of self-defense and discipline. Students will be building and developing reflexes that can help them avoid potential dangers as needed. This class will focus on having respect and self-control.
Using interdisciplinary curriculum, students in grades 2-5 will acquire the hands-on experience and explore the process of growing plants & gardening. Students will apply new ideas and basic life skills to cultivate and maintain "Alamosa Gardens."
Incorporating art and mathematical concepts, students from grades 3-5 will have the hands-on opportunities to create school murals while applying their daily mathematical concepts and spatial senses involved with arts.
Students in grades K-5 will be exploring variety of social dances using variety of music that are trendy to students. The club will also focus on mobility, flexibility, musicality, postures, good alignment, relationship and sense of style.
Students in grades K-5 will use our track and field to practice running. The club will put an emphasis on making running fun, using good technique, learning to track heart rates, distance, frequency, and intensity.
Grades 1-5 — Limit 15 spots
Students in grades 2 - 5, will practice several dance movements from both online and videos to build and develop fitness and motor skills.
Students in grades 3-5 will explore the fundamentals of stringed instruments, specifically guitars . They will learn chords and notes. Students will learn to read guitar tabs and create their own music. Students will be introduced to well-known musicians (guitarists) through literature and will have opportunity to practice, develop their musical style, and participate in school performances.
